Casa Villa Mexian Restaurant, Little River

Last night I took my children to Casa Villa after hearing wonderful reviews from other locals. It was fantastic. We were seated quickly and our server Emily was excellent. They served salsa and chips as soon as we were seated and my kids were thrilled. The salsa was great and you could really taste the fresh cilantro. Dinner was served quickly and everything tasted very authentic. You can check out the menu on their site: http://casavillalittleriver.com/
Casa Villa id located at 1535 Hwy. 17 North in Little River, SC.
I definitely recommend giving it a try!

Ocean Isle Beach beach

We have a guest from NJ staying with us this week so we have been trying to do all sorts of fun things. Yesterday we went to the beach at Ocean Isle Beach. This is the first time we went to this particular beach. At first I was disappointed because we had to pay $5 for parking but it ended up being worth it. (FYI- I normally go to North Myrtle Beach beach and park at one of the many free beach access lots)
We set up our spot which was pretty close to the pier and started to play in the water. We came across a star fish stuck on the beach which we tried to rescue by getting him back in the ocean.

My son named him Pinocchio even though I pushed for Patrick. We also gave a shot at building a sand castle but that did not pan out as I had hoped. We took a walk down the beach to see sand sculptures we were told about. After walking 2 miles down the beach we ran into these guys:

Pretty neat, right?

All and all a very nice family day. The area we set up was not over crowded as some of the other spots were. Only down side...a crab got my big toe on the way to the sand sculptures (OUCH!!) and I have a fairly decent sun burn to take with me as a memory. :)

Bellas's Pizza & Deli Review

Pizza is a sore subject for me. Pizza in the north is SO MUCH better than the south. There I said it. My husband and I and most people I know in this area that are from the north pizza shop the area. We try place after place trying to find something even semi-comparable to the amazing pizza we are used to.
That being said I will try to give a fair review of pizza in this area. Recently, my family had a coupon from the attraction book for Bella's Pizza and Deli. IO believe it was buy a pie get a buy. We ordered a plain for the kids and a white pie with broccoli for the grown ups. I actually thew the menu out before we even finished our first slice. I did like the taste of the sauce on the plain but it the slice itself was so thin and there was barley amd cheese on it. The white pizza was just broccoli and mozzerella and no ricotta.
Now I did google reviews before we ordered and they had a few reviews stating best local pizza but I do NOT agreee. We will not be revisiting Bella's.

Tony's Pizza is next on my list to try. So far Christopher's is our choice...unless you want to drive into Myrtle Beach. We LOVE Mellow Mushroom!

Patio's Tiki Bar & Grill Review

Recently some girlfriends suggested we head out to Patio's Tiki Bar & Grill. I really enjoyed it! The atmosphere and music were gerat. Food portions were large and faily inexpensive. Great waterway views were another great perk. I ordered and completely finished the Vegetable Patch which was a combo of onion rings, green beans, and zucchini served with a wasabi ranch. Make sure you have a drink because the wasabi ranch definatey has some kick to it. Can't wait to go back!

Patio's Tiki Bar & Grill is located on the waterway where the Sun Cruz ships out. Check out their website: http://www.patiostikibar.com/#
